Flip cameras have the advantages of taking selfies at the same resolutions as the rear camera. Even more, the motorized cameras save space in the front for a less bezelled display. And here it is. Asus just launched the Zenfone 7 Pro, it has exactly the things I talked about. What more does it pack? Let’s DIGIN2 that.

The build quality:

The back of the Zenfone 7 Pro has a curved glass 3d surface that fits in your hand perfectly. There are two colors available for the device Pastel white and the Aurora Black. The device is 165mm tall and 77mm wide. Also, it has a thickness of 9.6mm and it weighs around 203 g. The motorized camera is the main attraction of the phone. So clearly it raises the question about durability.

We all know that moving part means less durable. But Asus has taken special care of this area. There are a stepper motor and a lot of gears for the smooth operation of the camera.

Furthermore, the fingerprint scanner is side-mounted on the power button this time. There’s a type C port at the bottom, a dual sim + microSD card slot on the left side. And lastly, there’s no headphone jack this time.

The screen of Zenfone 7 Pro:

Unlike last year this time, Asus has provided an AMOLED screen. So the phone has a 6.67-inch 2400 x1080p AMOLED display. The display also has a 90Hz high refresh rate like all the flagships of this year. The blacks are improved from the last year’s LCD version. Above all, there is no notch, cutout, or punch hole intrusion on the display this time. Hence your media consumptions are going to be smooth. With a 92% screen to body ratio and 700nits of peak brightness the display automatically becomes one of the greatest ones.

Cameras:

This is what the whole phone is about. The cameras of the Zenfone 7 Pro are the show-stoppers of the phone. The rear-mounted camera array houses an IMX686 64 MP image sensor with f1.8 aperture. Furthermore, this is a 6P lens which has a 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization. The night mode, portrait mode, and panorama shots come great due to this camera.

Then there is an Ultra Wide Sony IMX363 12 MP dual pixel image sensor with f/2.2 aperture. This lens can help you get wide shots. Also with the help of this, you can capture wide-angle selfies.

The Zenfone 7 Pro also has a third 8MP telephoto lens. This enables the device for a rather 3x optical zoom. It goes upto 12x when the digital zoom adds up with this.

Video recording with the camera has many features like auto stabilization and motion capture. So here’s a list of the feats it can perform.

switching between modes

8K UHD (7680×4320) video at 30 fps for the main camera
4K UHD (3840 by 2160) video at 30 / 60 fps for the secondary camera
1080p FHD video recording at 30 / 60 fps with HyperSteady
720p HD video recording at 30 fps
3-axis electronic image stabilization
Motion Tracking video (4K UHD video at 60 fps)
Time Lapse (4K UHD video)
Slow Motion Video (4K UHD at 120 fps / 1080p FHD at 240 fps / 720p at 480 fps)
Take still photo while recording video (do not support in 8K video recording)

Internals of Zenfone 7 Pro

The device runs on ZenUI 7.0 built on Android 10. On the hardware side, the device works on a Snapdragon 865+ Chipset. With 7nm architecture and the latest 5G support, it makes the device a high performer. Furthermore, the chipset also houses an Adreno 650 GPU to handle your lag-free flagship-level gaming experience.

The device comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM. In addition, there is a UFS 3.1 256GBinternal memory. The MicroSD card slot allows the storage to be expanded up to 2TB.

Battery and Charging of Zenfone 7 Pro:

The Zenfone 7 Pro comes with a massive 5000 mAh battery. It can certainly last you a full day. Also, there are some special battery saving modes programmed in the device to let you get the maximum efficiency. The phone also supports 30W (PD 3.0 and QC 4.0) fast charging via the USB-C port at the bottom.

Extra random Stuff:

  • The device comes with NFC support
  • No wireless charging is there
  • The headphone jack is also removed
  • Bluetooth 5.1 and WiFi 6 are also present likewise.
  • Qualcomm aptX Adaptive support is there over Bluetooth 5.1

So that was it for the article. Hope you liked the new device. To me, this is possibly the best design to house a camera module. The 92% screen-to-body ratio is what I will be staring at all the time. In addition, the lack of a front camera is overcompensated by the rear cameras. The only complaint is that the thickness can be reduced a bit. But considering the 5000 mAh battery it houses, it’s withstandable. Likewise, all the links will be below. Check them out on your own. Happy gadgeting.
