Redmi Earbud S and 18W dual-USB Charger launched!!

Redmi has just launched Redmi Earbud S, a moderate pair of affordable truly wireless earphones. Also they have launched an 18W dual-USB charger. So without further ado lets DIGIN2 what to expect from these bad boys. Likewise, buying links are at the bottom.

The Redmi Earbud S

As you can see the Earbuds comes with a charging case the earbuds and some additional buds. The lightweight plastic design makes it rather compact and pocketable. Apart from that the box cannot be opened with one hand. But still, that’s what you get at just ₹1799.

Battery Backup

Moving on the Redmi Earbud S carries 4 hours of charge in a single go. After you have drained the earbuds you can put them in the box to recharge. Furthermore, you can charge the earbuds like this 2 more times. So in total the case can provide you around 12 hours of playback time. Consequently, the box can be charged with a micro-USB cable. But the cable doesn’t come with the box so keep that in mind.

Audio quality of the Redmi Earbud S

You can see several YouTubers review for the sound quality, all of which come to the same conclusion. The sound quality is atmost bearable and useful for daily use. Call quality is good enough also. The stereo separation and bass are good but the mids and highs are somewhat okayish. So if you’re an audiophile please skip this.

IPX4

For other uses such as gym and workout, the Redmi Earbud S is extremely well made. Furthermore, it comes with an IPX4 rating making it splashproof. Even more, Bluetooth 5.0 connection helps in low latency and 10 meters of range.

Buttons

The earbuds come with multi-function buttons on it. So there’s no fear of accidental touches. Furthermore, the buttons can be used to play/pause music (single press), receive/reject calls, and accessing voice assistant ( double press) of your choice. Also you can press the buttons thrice to activate the low latency gaming mode. In this stage the latency reduces to 122ms according to Redmi’s claim. Still the lag is noticeable.

Mi 18W Dual Port Charger

You might be fed up with the weak 10W charger coming with your Redmi phone although the SoC supports fast-charging. So to save you some online rifling for a fast charger here’s Mi’s dual port USB charger at just ₹599.

18Watt QC 3.0 Support

The charger is nothing special. It just does what it claims. It has two USB-A portsthat can be used simultaneously to charge up to two devices. Furthermore, it supports the 18 Watt of QuickCharge 3.0 fast charging. So forget any kind of hour-long charging or waiting for one device to juice up so that you can plug in another.

Even more the device is BIS certified to protect you again sudden electrical surges. Also it supports 100–240V of power input. The charging won’t slow down because of some low-voltage in your area due to this.
